Condition and cleanliness has a huge influence on the price buyers are willing to pay for items and little details are more important than most people realize. We accept items for consignment regardless of their state however you should know that if you bring something to us dirty, it goes into the sale dirty and that WILL affect the bidding in a negative way in most cases.
Working condition matters too; we can't always test items prior to sale in fact it is rare that we do. We rely on the Consignor to tell us the working condition and any known quirks etc. regarding the running or starting of equipment. This is information you should include on the list you provide us when you drop off your items. To help you make that list, we have prepared one ahead of time for you - just download and print it from here.
- Call ahead when you intend to bring items for a sale. We do not keep regular posted hours and we hate to waste your time or gas driving out without an appointment, so CALL AHEAD every time no matter what!
- Make a list of the items you are bringing and include any and all relevant information - make, model, year, horsepower, size, dimensions, serial numbers, mileage, value, service records...it all matters and we will include in descriptions to aid in selling.
- Be sure to note any liens or other disclosures such as mechanical issues, defects, out-of-province registrations regarding vehicles, equipment, etc. Please bring or supply us your proof of ownership or registration where applicable. We are legally required to see this information and it is all required at time of booking. Odometer and hour meter change declarations are also required.
- If your item(s) require fuel, power or similar to run or be tested make sure it is fueled, charged or has a good battery before you bring it. Potential buyers like to test items and they cannot do that if you don't prep it.
- In most cases we will take the photos for the sale but you are more than welcome to take pictures of your items yourself, just make sure they are taken in high resolution at the biggest size possible (that means the largest size setting on your phone if that is what you are using). Please don't edit them, just send them to us or hand them over on a USB stick or similar in their original, unadulterated state so we can edit them to fit our needs for the online sale pages and ads.
